About us

 

Fadderfriends is an informal support organization, religiously and politically independent. The aim of the organization is to help children in need.  The managing committee consists of

the following persons:  Lars Wolf, chairman and editor of Fadderletters,  Rune Wikström, treasurer, Ann Sheppard, auditor, mainly of our activities in Greece,  Margareta Wolf, secretary, also responsible of bazaars, fundraising and the Albanian Women Handicraft Cooperative    

 

The contact between the committee and the members is maintained by the Fadderletters, which are being sent out four times a year.  The annual final accounts with comments are presented in the September letter.

 

Fadderfriends has got approximately 60 regular members (individuals and families) who finance the activities through regular contributions. Additional funds are allocated through second-hand sales, bazaars, lotteries, gifts and collections. Fadderfriends also has got some temporary members, who make various types of contributions now and then.

 

Most of the members are Swedish, but we also have members in Greece, Poland, Germany and Albania. We also cooperate with other international organizations such as the Swedish Star of Hope, and UN-clubs in Härnösand and Örebro. In Albania we work together with the Albanian Red Cross and in Greece with the Greek UNICEF committee.
